Main Organiser

Established in 1988, Far East Gemological Institute has trained many jewellers, goldsmiths, pawnbrokers and hobbyists in the subject of gemology, especially diamonds, gemstones and jade. In order to step up into a higher level of academic quality, FEGI also collaborates with Singapore Polytechnic in the certification of basic upgrading courses. If any student wants to obtain a higher qualification in gemology, FEGI is also an Allied Teaching Centre (ATC) of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain’s FGA Diploma Course (see www.gem-a.com).

Vision:

• To improve end consumers’ perception about the gems and jewellery trade and eventually increase their confidence level in the gems and jewellery market.
• To educate and empower end consumers and people in the trade with accurate and updated information on gemstones and jewellery in the market.
• To be a support to Far East Gemological Laboratory in its contribution to worldwide researches as well as its commitment to the most reliable and consistent gemological testing services.

Mission:

• To provide professional education to the jewellery industry and end-consumer so as to promote Singapore’s economy by increasing the confidence level of both the seller and the buyer in the products.
• To create an environment for end consumers, people in the jewellery trade and jewellery lovers to come together to share their passion for gemstones and jewellery.
